Fire control received a call from a member of the public reporting a Fire at a Hotel. 

Control immediately mobilised 3 Fire Engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Wellington and Taunton. 

Due to the information received on the call Fire control made the decision to escalate the incident and requested 'Make Pumps 5' with a further 2 Fire Engines attending from Taunton and Bampton. 

Shortly after arrival on scene our crews requested the attendance of a water carrier which has attended from Bridgwater.

A make pumps 8 message has been received and now we have multiple crews and support appliances in attendance to prevent any further fire spread. 

Crews are currently at work using 2 x Breathing Apparatus, 3 x Main jets, 2 Hose Reel Jets currently in use.

Crews are making steady progress extinguishing the fire, the fire is involving a 3 storey annexe area of a hotel. The fire has unfortunately caused part of the building to collapse, crews are at work using 4 Breathing Apparatus, 3 Main Firefighting Jets, 2 Hose Reel Jets To extinguish the fire and prevent the risk of further spread to other parts of the hotel.

A request has come from the incident ground for a 4 pump relief strategy to continue firefighting operations and to ensure the fire has been fully extinguished. the relief strategy also includes 2 Supporting officers to rotate with the officers already on scene.

This incident has now been scaled back to 2 Fire Engines. crews currently doing a watching brief whilst turning over and damping down the incident.

Crews sent a Stop message detailing 20% smoke damage and 25% fire damage to the Hotel. Crews used 4 Breathing Apparatus, 3 Hose Reel Jets, 1 Covering Jet, 3 Safety Jets, a Thermal Imaging Camera, Ceiling Hooks, a Triple Extension Ladder and a Light Portable Pump. Crews are continuing to monitor hot spots for the next hour.
