Fire engines from Lynton and Porlock attended a camper van that was on fire in the carpark at Coscombe on Exmoor. On arrival crews confirmed the camper van was well alight, all persons were accounted for and two gas cylinders were removed from the vehicle before they got to work extinguishing.
The camper van was 100% involved in fire and 10m x 5m of tarmac damaged due to fire. A small amount of oil was cleaned up using an environmental pack. Equipment used ... two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera. The cause of the fire was accidental.
