BT provide Relay UK, a service that connects people using a textphone with people using a telephone or another textphone. It allows deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired people to contact the UK 999 service in an emergency by dialling 18000.

Emergency SMS is a service that lets deaf, hard of hearing and speech-impaired people in the UK send a SMS text message to the UK 999 service where it will be passed to the Police, Ambulance, Fire Service or Coastguard. It is an add-on to the existing 999 and 18000 services that are available in the UK.

Here is a list of support services (PDF) which may be helpful for anyone who has been personally affected by an incident we have attended or someone who is helping to care for them. The list is not exhaustive and more help and advice may be required from your GP.

We have introduced a more secure way to send personal or commercially sensitive information by email (PDF)
