Public notices

We inspect a wide range of properties to check they are complying with fire safety law. If we find something that needs improving or there is a risk to life, we can issue a formal notice. We are required by law to maintain an enforcement register of notices served. It is an offence to not comply with a formal notice.

There are three types of notice:

  • Alterations notice
  • Enforcement notice
  • Prohibition notice.

Find out more about fire safety inspections and the different types of notice.
