Vehicle fire

Fire Control received a report of a tractor on fire in the West Down area and immediately mobilised fire appliances from Ilfracombe and Braunton and a water carrier from Barnstaple. 

Shortly after booking in attendance, crews confirmed that the tractor is well alight and efforts were being made to prevent fire spread to the adjacent buildings. Crews are also at work with Compressed Air Foam supply.

Crews have successfully extinguished the fire - the tractor and the slurry attachment did sustain some heat damage, and an adjacent property sustained 5% heat damage. The cause of the fire was accidental.
