Fire Control received multiple calls reporting a small lorry on fire and mobilised fire engines from Shepton Mallet and Wells and a water bowser from Yeovil.
On arrival crews confirmed that one Heavy Goods Vehicle was well alight and got to work with one hose reel jet to prevent the fire escalating.
At 00:12 crews were making steady progress with a foam jet and a hose reel jet and were cooling one 4.5kg butane cylinder.
At 00:55 the final details were confirmed as one horsebox involved in fire in layby off the A39, cab and sleeping compartment 100% damaged by fire, fire extinguished using one hose hose reel jet, one foam jet and one thermal imaging camera.
