Vehicle fire

Fire control received several 999 calls reporting a car on fire, next to a block of flats in Bridgwater. One fire engine was initially sent, however due to the number of 999 calls and reports of the fire spreading, a second fire engine was also sent to assist. On arrival crews confirmed this vehicle was well alight and was close to a block of flats. The flats were evacuated as a precaution, whilst the crews extinguished the fire using:

• 2 hose reel jets

• 2 breathing apparatus

   

This was a car fire that spread to some fencing, wheelie bins and bike shed. The cause of the fire was accidental.
