Property fire

Fire Control received a report of smoke issuing from a property in the Westleigh area and immediately mobilised 2x fire appliances from Wellington, 1x fire appliance from Cullompton and an officer.

Shortly after booking in attendance, crews confirmed that the first floor of the property was heavily smoke logged, crew used 2x breathing apparatus to successfully rescue the occupants who were located within the ground floor of the property.

The fire was located in the first floor bedroom which was caused by a heating element to a boiler. Crews used 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x covering jet, 1x thermal image camera and 1x gas monitor. Crews also allowed the property to naturally ventilate.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
