Fire Control received a call from the occupant of a house reporting that their electric chair was on fire.
Crews from Yelverton, Crownhill (Green Watch) and Bere Alston was immediately mobilised with a fire officer.
Crew confirmed that the fire was out prior to their arrival. The fire was within the battery unit of the electric chair which was removed to the open air. Crews got to work ventilating the property of smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan and provided the occupant with some fire safety advice.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
