Property fire
Crews from Wells and Shepton Mallet along with a supporting officer were mobilised to a report of a domestic property on fire on Haydon Drove, Haydon, Wells. On arrival crews requested another two fire appliances along with a water carrier due to smoke and flames issuing from the property.
This was one detached bungalow measuring approximately 8m x 7m of prefabricated construction with a small brick extension. The fire started in the log burner in the living room which spread to the rest of the property. The property was 100% damaged by fire, smoke and water, equipment used to extinguish ... four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, two shot extension ladders, two reciprocating saws and one thermal imaging camera. One male suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The cause of the fire was accidental.
