Property fire
Two Fire engines from Taunton were orginally sent to a report of a garage on fire, which was attached to a property. Due to the number of calls and reports of people possibly still being in the property, fire control escalated the incident and sent a further two fire engines, from Bridgwater and Wellington.
On arrival crews confirmed the garage was well alight and there was still a dog within the property. An aerial ladder platform was also requested. Crews rescued the dog safely and extinguished the fire using:
- 6 Breathing apparatus
- 2 Hose reel jets
- 1 Safety jet
- 1 Smoke clearance fan
- Thermal image camera
- Gas monitor
There was 90 per cent fire damage to the garage and 25 per cent smoke damage. The cause of the fire was accidental.
