Property fire

Fire control received a call from an occupier of a property at the above location who was unable to evacuate due to a fire. Three pumps from Plymouth were immediately mobilised while a fire control operator stayed on the line with the caller and gave fire survival guidance. The details of the callers location within the property was passed to the fire crews on scene and a quick rescue of the trapped occupants was made.

A request for further appliances and aerial ladder platform was made to control and a further 2 fire appliances were mobilised, bringing the total to 5 along with further supporting resources and fire officers.

Update 21:46 - Fire is in the roof space has spread to neighbouring property. Crews are using 6 breathing apparatus, 3 safety jets, and 3 hose reel jets in use.

Update 22:24 - Incident has been sectorised for better command and control. A multi-agency meeting is also taking place.

Update 22:59 - Breathing apparatus is now discontinued to allow aerial ladder platform to operate on roof space. External firefighting still taking place.

Update 23:34 - Incident now being scaled back down. Crews still dealing with hotspots utilising the aerial ladder platform.

Update 01:22 - This fire was located in the bathroom of property and spread into neighbouring property. Two persons were rescued by fire and rescue service and taken to hospital. 50% fire damage and 100% smoke damage to property. Crews using the following equipment to extinguish the fire:

• 6 breathing apparatus
• 3 hose reel jets
• 3 safety jets
• 1 aerial ladder platform

Fire investigation has been carried out on this property and confirm that the cause was accidental.
