Fire Control received reports of smoke issuing from the roof of a domestic property so quickly mobilised local crews. On arrival crews confirmed smoke issuing from the roof space so requested a fourth fire engine to assist. The following equipment is being used to extinguish the fire:

  • Two breathing apparatus
  • One hose reel jet
  • One safety jet
  • Short extension ladder

This incident is still ongoing. Updates will follow shortly.

Final Update - This incident is now complete and was brought under control at 2040hrs. The fire, which started accidentally in an extractor fan in a first floor bathroom, then spread to the roof space. Crews worked well to prevent the fire spreading any further, using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, safety jets and ladders to extinguish it, before thoroughly checking for hotspots with thermal imaging cameras. Once the scene was made safe duty of care was left with the owners, although one fire appliance will be returning later this evening for a safety check. There were no casualties and these are the full and final details.
