Fire control received multiple reports of property on fire in the Totnes area.

Control immediately mobilised 3 appliances and a supporting officer to attend.

Once on scene crews immediately requested 'Make Pumps 5' control sent an additional 2 fire engines and a water carrier appliance. An Aerial Ladder Platform

A short while later crews then requested 'Make Pumps 8' with control sending an additional 3 Fire Engines alongside support appliances.

This is a fire involving a Domestic premises consisting of 2 storeys approximately 24 Metres by 18 Metres. The fire is affecting the roof space of the properties. Currently our crews are blocking the A385 and there is no access at this time.

Update at 19:00 - Crews have withdrawn to a safe distance whilst still attacking the fire using multiple hose reel jets, attack jets and the aerial ladder platform across different sectors on the incident ground. This is due to a roof collapse affecting both properties. A 4 pump relief has been requested which consists of crews from Torquay, Paignton, Totnes and Bovey Tracey.

Update at 21:00 - Crews are making steady progress damping down and turning over hotspots. Crews have reduced the equipment being used down to 1 hose reel jet, 1 safety jet and the aerial ladder platform.

Final update at 23:10 - This fire involved 2 domestic properties measuring 20m x 40m. Both roof spaces 100% damaged by fire and heat, both properties 100% by water. In total, crews used 6 breathing apparatus, 2 attack jets, 4 hose reel jets, 1 aerial ladder platform, 2 water bowsers, 4 thermal imaging cameras, 1 135 ladder and gas monitors. Water was supplied to incident with the use of 3 hydrants. At the height of the incident, the incident was split into 5 sectors.
