Summary
The Service is currently recruiting for a Crew Manager – Fire Control – Learning & Development on a permanent basis and applications are invited from those interested in the role as either a lateral move or a promotion opportunity. This role is conditioned to the Day Duty System and includes a 12% training allowance.
From 1 April 2024, we have introduced development rates of pay for any new individuals moving into a development or an acting-up role. These pay rates are set out by the National Joint Council.

Eligibility and how to apply
Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Firefighters and Crew Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum:
- Be a competent Firefighter - Control
- If you have not already undertaken the Leading Others Skills Build, there will be a requirement to undertake this as part of the selection process. Please be advised that you may be able to book on to the Skills Build taking place on 16th July.
- Have good leadership skills.
- Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions.
