Incident - Shed fire

Fire control received numerous calls to a fire at the above location and mobilised two fire engines, one from Totnes and one from Paignton to attend. Upon arrival crews confirmed this to be a shed which was well alight and requested the attendance of another fire engine from Paignton and a water carrier from Torquay. 

Crews used 2 hose reel jets and 1 compressed air foam jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews also confirmed that one male was suffering from burns and requested the attendance of the Ambulance service. He was then conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.

Highways agency was also requested to help with traffic management.

Final Details:  Crews have now left the scene and confirmed the incident involved a single storey shed approximately 20m x 6m which was well alight.  75% destroyed by fire and spread to approximately 18m of hedgerow.  One male casualty suffering 8% burns was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.  Two breathing apparatus wearers, two hose reel jets and one compressed air foam jet were used to extinguish the fire.  The cause of the fire was accidental .
