Two fire appliances from Greenbank attended a property where there was a strong smell of gas in property. The call came via the Ambulance service. Crews swiftly arrived at the property and confirmed an elderly female resident with gas inhalation. Crews administered first aid until the arrival of paramedics who took over care of the patient.
The gas board engineer shortly arrived, and isolated the gas to the property. Crews ventilated the property and found that the gas oven had been left on. Two residents in the flat above were also checked by the paramedics.
Duty of care of the incident was left with the gas engineer.
