Fire control received a report of a fire in a commercial building at the above location.

Two fire appliances from Paignton, one fire appliance from Torquay and an operational assurance officer were mobilised.

Crews confirmed there was a fire in the deep fat fryer and police were asked to attend for traffic duties.

17:10 - Crews made pumps 6 and one Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP).  Two crews from Brixham, one crew from Newton Abbot and a command unit from Totnes were mobilised.

17:22 - This is a terraced building consisting of two floors, used as a mixture of residential and commercial properties.  Fire located in the flue lining and surrounding flue.  4 breathing apparatus, 1 safety jet, 1 thermal imaging camera are being used

17:24 - make pumps 8 for breathing apparatus.

17:28 - make pumps 10 for breathing apparatus and another ALP

17:48 - Building of two storeys roof well alight, fire believed to be in first and second floor flats, 8 breathing apparatus in use, 3 hose reel jets, one 45mm covering jet and thermal image camera in use.

18:09 - make pumps 16 for breathing apparatus

19:22 - Crews are still fighting the fire.

23:24 - This incident has been scaled down to four pumps now, crews damping down and checking for under detected fire spread.

08:10 - Crews have been working through the night, four pumping appliances have been in attendance. Crews are currently monitoring hotspots using a thermal imaging camera and ALP

10:12 - Crews remain on scene monitoring hotspots by removing roof tiles and damping down using the ALP. The incident will shortly be scaled down to two fire appliances and the ALP 

12:46 - The incident commander confirmed that this was a fire involving a 3 storey terraced property measuring 45m x 45m. Crews used 29 breathing apparatus teams, 1 10.5m ladder, 1 triple extension ladder, safety at height equipment, 1 gas monitor, 1 thermal imaging camera, 3 hose reel jets, 3 attack jets, 2 ALP, 1 hydrant and 2 covering jets to extinguish the fire. Two local crews will remain on scene throughout the day.
