Answer the call!
We are recruiting for Fire Control Room Operators.
We are holding two information events during October so you can find out more about the role of a Fire Control Room Operator, how they respond to emergency calls and how the application and training process works. The events will be:
- An online presentation on 15 October, 7pm to 9pm
- An open day at Service Headquarters on 19 October, 10am to 1pm.
If you would like to attend one of our information events and learn about the journey you’ll take to become part of the team, email vleaman@dsfire.gov.uk or nalford@dsfire.gov.uk.
Fire Control Operators play a huge part in making sure emergency situations are under control. They do not only help callers identify the exact location of the incident, but they provide safety advice and reassurance until our firefighters arrive on scene. They also determine what resources and relief are needed for the fire crews as well providing other emergency and non-emergency responders with updates on each incident.
If you have great communication skills and a passion to help your community, looking for new challenges and the chance to learn new skills whilst being part of an exceptional team, why not join us at one of our information events and find out more about what it takes to become a Fire Control Room Operator.
