Two fire engines from Exmouth attended an incident in the early hours of this morning following reports of a car fire. Upon arrival crews confirmed one private vehicle was well alight. Crews used 1 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. They then used the thermal image camera to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.
Control were informed that the car was 50% damaged by fire and 100% damaged by smoke and water. As a result of smoke from the vehicle fire, a nearby properties alarms sounded. Crews liaised with the owner of the property before returning home station.
The cause of the vehicle fire was recorded as accidental.
