Property fire

Fire Control received a report of a stone barn on fire in the West Alvington area. Crews from Kingsbridge and Salcombe was immediately mobilised alongside 2 officers.

Shortly after booking in attendance, crews confirmed that a barn style building measuring approximately 8m x 4m is well alight. 
Crews are currently at work using compressed air foam supply to tackle the fire.

At 23:13 - Crews are making steady progress - 1x triple extension ladder and lighting in use. Water shuttle is now in operation with crews using hydrants in the local area.

At 23:43 - Crews are continuing to make steady progress. 

At 00:43 - Crews have extinguished the fire using compressed air foam supply and triple extension ladder- unfortunately this barn was completely destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
