Fire Control received a report of smoke issuing from a roof of a derelict property in the Water Lane area of Exeter and immediately mobilised crews from Danes Castle and Ashburton.

Shortly after booking in attendance, a request was made from incident for a further 3 fire engines, these were mobilised from Clyst St George and Middlemoor.

At 19:11 - Crews have located a fire within the derelict building and are preparing the fireground to extinguish - 4x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x safety jet and 1x light portable pump are in use.

At 19:43 - Fire was located on the ground floor of the property involving items within a steel drum. The fire has been successfully extinguished using 2x breathing apparatus, 1x hose reel jet, 1x safety jet, 1x thermal image camera and 1x light portable pump. The fire is believed to be a deliberate ignition.
