Property fire

Fire Control received a report of a chip pan fire in the kitchen of a retail premise measuring approx 100m X 100m. Crews from stations across Exeter and Exmouth were mobilised. On arrival crews requested a fourth fire engine which also came from Exmouth. Crews used the following equipment to extinguish the fire:

• Two breathing apparatus
• One hose reel jet
• One safety jet
• One positive pressure ventilation fan
• Thermal imaging camera
• Three portable fire extinguishers

The fire is now believed to be out.

The cause was accidental, with damage confined to the fryer with minor smoke damage to the rest of the building.
