Fire Control received a call for a derelict building with indications that there could be people inside.
Three fire engines were quickly mobilised and on arrival crews confirmed one 40M X 40M derelict hotel with a fire in the ground floor. Crews soon requested a further fire engine to assist.
One fifty five year old male was rescued by fire crews from the third floor using a triple extension ladder.
Further equipment used was as follows:
- Four breathing apparatus
- Two thermal imaging cameras
- Two positive pressure ventilation fans
- One hose reel jet
- One safety jet
- Short extension ladder
This incident is now closed. The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
