Outdoor fire
Fire Control received several calls reporting a fire involving a field and mobilised one fire engine from Danes Castle, Exeter. Whilst crews were enroute they requested a further two fire engines and a water bowser to attend due to the the volume of smoke seen. The fire engines were sent from Crediton and Middlemoor, Exeter with the water bowser attending from Danes Castle, Exeter.
The final details were confirmed at 15:35 as a field measuring approximately 300 metres x 700 metres used for standing crops. Fire extinguished by crews using three hose reel jets, one attack jet and four beaters. Approximately 30% of the field was damaged by fire.
