We are currently dealing with a large stretch of railway embankment on fire in Exeter. We have 3 fire engines, a water bowser and an off road vehicle trying to extinguish the fire near Exeter Canal. This is approximately 150 metres of embankment on fire. A railway liaison officer is also in attendance assisting crews.

This fire was extinguished using 2 jets and the cause of the fire was accidental ignition. Network Rail were also in attendance assisting our crews.
