Outdoor fire
We have been called to a fire in a field of corn crops involving a combine harvester.
We currently have 19 fire engines on the scene (as of 3.30pm).
Our crews are fighting the fire using:
- hose reel jets
- main jets
- breathing apparatus
- water bowser
- multiple beaters
- pitchforks.
Update 7.11pm. Crews are damping down hotspots in hedge lines.

Update 13th August 6.52am. Crews continue to dampen down hotspots in the field and on the combine harvester.
Update 13th August 17:25 - This incident is now completed and all appliances have left. This fire involved 1 Combine Harvester, which was fully involved in fire and approximately 10 acres of standing crops were destroyed by the fire. There was also approximately 30 acres of stubble and hedgerow involved. The cause of the fire was accidental.
