Hazardous materials

Fire Control mobilsed crews from Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and the environmental protection unit from South Molton and an officer to a hazardous material incident involving chlorine in Willingcott Valley.

This involved an incident in the swimming pool plant room involving topping up their hopper machine with chemicals which caused a vapour inside the plant room. No casualties were involved.
Crews put a cordon in place and used 2x breathing apparatus, gas monitoring equipment and a hose reel jet to reduce the vapour and make the room safe.
