Animal Rescue
Fire Control received a call to a report of a cocker spaniel being stuck on a ledge 100ft from the ground and initially mobilised an appliance from Okehampton to investigate and make an assessment of the scene.
On arrival crews investigated and requested a further crew to attend with additional Safety at Height Equipment due to the location of the dog - this was mobilised from Tavistock and subsequently a Tactical Rescue Team was mobilised from Barnstaple to ensure the safety of crews.
At 12:33 the cocker spaniel was confirmed as rescued from a 100ft quarry face using Safety at Height Equipment. The Tactical Rescue Team from Barnstaple was stood down whilst en route.
