Agricultural Building Fire
Fire Control received a report of an agricultural property on fire in the area of Witham Friary. Fire appliances from Wincanton, Mere (Dorset and Wiltshire FRS), a water carrier from Yeovil and 2x fire officers were immediately mobilised.
Due to the nature of calls being received, Fire Control mobilised a third appliance which was mobilised from Gillingham (Dorset and Wiltshire FRS).
Shortly after booking in attendance, crew confirmed that the property was well alight and requested for a further 3 appliances. These were mobilsed from Frome, Castle Cary and Warminster (Dorset and Wiltshire FRS), alongside the Incident Command Unit from Street, the Incident Support Vehicle from Martock, and 2x fire officers.

At 13:50 - This incident is one large outbuilding measuring 60m x 80m containing various contents. Crews are at work preventing fire spread to neighbouring property. Crews are pumping from a swimming pool and using main lines. Hazards are fire, smoke, gas cylinders within property and possible building collapse.
At 14:00 - Request for a second water carrier received from incident ground - this was requested from Andover (Hampshire & Isle of Wight FRS)
At 14:45 - Crews are at work with 2x 45mil jets, 1x ground monitor, 1x water wall.
