ICT Business Analyst

Summary

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for an ICT Business Analyst to enhance our forward-thinking development team, working within our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 22.2 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,221 to 43,421 per annum pro-rata which equates to £24,132 to £26,052 for 22.2 hours per week. As well as this we will offer you hybrid working arrangements, additional benefits, and a wonderful place to work.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Digital, Data and Technology department, as an ICT Business Analyst supporting our new Digital Business Relationship Function. This is a rewarding role allowing you to support the department in providing exemplary customer service and providing knowledge and expertise in this exciting field.

This position demands a strong grasp of business requirements and the ability to translate them into actionable technical specifications. You'll analyse the needs of stakeholders, map business processes, and design solutions involving key applications within our services portfolio. Effective collaboration with technical teams and external vendors will be crucial for implementing, testing, and refining these solutions. We'll depend on you to document requirements meticulously, pinpoint inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven improvements.

• To play a leading role in collaboratively assessing the ICT applications, systems, data, and process implications arising from new initiatives. Actively engage with stakeholders, including end-users, to gather valuable input and insights.
• Where suitable external software solutions are not available, collaborate with software developers to articulate and document bespoke software requirements.
• To take responsibility for managing change as influenced or supported by web-based applications.
• To ensure that collation, storage and presentation of information complies with all data related legislation, with particular emphasis on the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts.
• To keep abreast of national project developments such as Fire Control and to represent the Service on appropriate regional or national technical forums and on local partnership projects relating to web service delivery.
• To deploy a customer service-oriented approach to work, proactively engaging in user training and support initiatives as needed. Contribute to the development of user-friendly training materials and resources, empowering users to make the most of ICT Solutions.
