Incident - Vehilce fire

A fire engine from Yeovil was sent to reports of a car on fire in Brympton, Yeovil. Upon arrival crews confirmed the vehicle to be well alight and requested further appliances to attend due to the car being in close proximity to the house. Two further fire engines from Yeovil attended the incident and crews confirmed that an end terraced property was also affected by the fire. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 safety jet, a fog spike and 2 thermal imaging cameras.

Neighbouring properties were evacuated and all persons accounted for and all utilities were isolated. 

Crews requested the attendance of the recue tender from Yeovil for the flexi camera to check cavity walls of the property for fire spread.

The cause of this incident is believed to be deliberate therefore Police were also in attendance.
