Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a dog that had fallen over a quarry edge and had become stuck in mud and water near the above location.

Two fire appliances from Launceston and Tavistock, along with a specialist rescue team from Camels Head were immediately mobilised by Fire Control.

On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that a 6 year old dog had fallen over an quarry edge and was stuck in water. While waiting for specialist rescue teams to arrive crews made an initial assessment and put safety measures in place.

The dog was rescued using a boat and water rescue equipment.
