Incident - Road Traffic Collision Persons Trapped

The fire service were called to assist other agencies with a road traffic collision where people were believed to be trapped.

One crew from South Molton, two crews from Tiverton and the heavy rescue tender from Middlemoor were mobilised.

On arrival the crews located the road traffic collision between a lorry and a motorcycle. There were no persons trapped, however the lorry was well alight. Crews got to work using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, while other crew members attended to casualties prior to the arrival of ambulance personnel.

The fire was extinguished and the vehicles and surrounding area made safe.

The casualties were left in the hands of ambulance personnel.
