Incident - Caravan Fire

The Fire Service were called to a report of a caravan on fire with cylinders involved at the above location.  One fire appliance from Torquay, two fire appliances from Newton Abbot and an Operational Assurance Officer were mobilised to this incident. 

On arrival crews requested the attendance of an Ambulance for one adult male suffering burns to face and hands.  One private caravan well alight which had spread to adjacent vehicle and slight damage to adjacent property.  One cylinder involved in fire unknown what type, at work two breathing apparatus, one main jet and one hose reel jet. 

Final details ..

Fire involving one private caravan approximately 5m x 2m which spread to adjacent motor vehicle and property.  Extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one main jet, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.  Caravan severely damaged by fire, 20% of motor vehicle damaged by fire and slight heat damage to exterior of property and wooden fence.  One male suffering slight burns to hands and face, treated at scene by Ambulance Paramedic.  One 14kg LPG cylinder also involved in fire.  The cause was accidental.
