Property fire

Fire Control received a report of a fire of unknown origin and mobilised one fire engine from Hatherleigh.

A subsequent call was received reporting that a building was involved in fire and a further two fire engines were mobilised from Okehampton and Torrington. 

On arrival at the scene crews confirmed that a building was well alight and requested a further two fire engines to attend for additional personnel which were mobilised from Holsworthy and Chagford along with an incident command vehicle from Ilfracombe.

Update at 12:42 - one barn/workshop measuring approximately 10 metres x 20 metres fully involved in fire. One hose reel jet and one jet in use with water being supplemented from a nearby street hydrant.

At 12:50 crews requested a water bowser to attend which was mobilised from Barnstaple.

Final details at 16:18 Agricultural barn measuring 15 metres x 30 metres of steel and block construction 100% damaged by fire. Barn contained various agricultural items. Fire extinguished using three hose reel jets, one main jet, two thermal imaging cameras, four breathing apparatus and two ground monitors.
