Due to sudden thunderstorms and heavy rain, Fire Control received dozens of calls to flooding incidents in the Chard area of Somerset.

Two people were rescued from their vehicle after it got stuck in floodwater on the A358 at Tytherleigh and taken by boat to dry land. There were further reports of vehicles stuck in floodwater at Chardstock and Wadeford.

A number of people were affected by flooding in their homes across Chard. Crews were helping across Chard through the night to help people affected by the floodwater.
