A large number of calls were received by Fire Control this morning around 05:50hrs with reports of black smoke coming from the South Milton Sands area.
Fire appliances from Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Modbury and Plympton were mobilised. Upon their attendance, fire crews confirmed one building is well alight.
Crews used the following equipment to extinguish the fire:
- Two compressed air foam jets
- Two attack jets
- One hose reel jet
- Small tools
- One light portable pump
12:17pm - The incident is now coming to a close. Crews have now come away.
