Fire Control received a report of a horse that had got stuck under a wooden footbridge and in a ditch in the area of Northam Burrows.

After booking in attendance, crew confirmed that they had managed to make contact with the horse's owner and a request for the telehandler was made. This was mobilised from Clyst St George, however was shortly stood down due to a local private telehandler being available.
A vet was soon on scene to sedate the horse to make the working area safe for crews to be able to rescue the horse and to check on the welfare and condition of the horse after rescue.

Crew successfully rescued the horse using strops, lines, Hampshire rescue equipment and the privately owned telehandler and left in the care of the owner and vet.
