An opportunity has arisen for a Risk Information Technician to provide comprehensive, technical risk information support to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, to enhance the safety of operational fire fighters, the public and the environment.
Covering East and North Devon and Somerset, you will be required to prepare version-controlled, site-specific risk information to support firefighter safety and to create plans for fire safety enforcement, prosecutions and fire and accident investigation purposes.
It's an exciting time to join the Service - where there is a strong focus on prevention and protection work. This role supports achieving the objectives set out in Community Risk Management Plan, making a real difference in enhancing safety in the wider community we serve.
The ideal candidate will have experience of using AutoCAD, demonstrate a good knowledge of GIS mapping, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management, able to thrive in a team environment and use their own initiative when working independently.
You must be willing and able to travel to sites within the operational area of the Service as required. The Service embraces hybrid-working, so while the role is based in SHQ Exeter, you will have various work locations including working from home for some of the time.
