The on-call element of our Service is fundamental to our emergency cover across Devon and Somerset.
On-call firefighters come from a variety of backgrounds – they could be self-employed, full time parents, trades people, administrators or shopkeepers all with a common interest to support and keep their community safe.
You will be providing a part time service, responding to fire and emergency calls in the same way as wholetime firefighters. Incidents can range from attending fires, floods, road traffic accidents, chemical spills, and talking to your community about fire prevention.
Firefighters may be called out a couple of times a week for one or two hours during the day, evenings or weekend. You decide the hours when you are available - all we ask is for you to be flexible.
We're currently looking for on-call firefighters at several stations. See the full list of stations below to see if your station has vacancies.
