Incident - Small fire within workshop.

3 Fire appliances, one from Topsham one from Ottery st Mary and one from Exmouth were mobilised to this incident in Exeter at the Southwest ambulance workshops.

Upon arrival this was found to be a small fire in a high bay light fitting within a commercial industrial unit used as a workshop by southwest ambulance. Though the fire was out on arrival there was a considerable amount of smoke within the unit and the fire service set about using their positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke plus 2 breathing apparatus and a thermal image camera to ensure the fire was fully out and the area safe.

The cause of this fire was accidental and believed to be an electrical fault.  Crews are now making up their equipment and returning to their respective stations.
