Fire Vehicle Small - Blackdown Hills

Fire control received a call in the Ring Down Common area of Blackdown hills from the owner of vehicle which had caught alight whilst driving.

Control immediately mobilised an appliance from Wellington.

Once on scene, crews located the vehicle on private land well alight. Crews got to work extinguishing the fire using 1 hose reel jet and 1 thermal imaging camera. Crews liaised with the vehicle and land owners throughout the incident.

Final update - crews confirmed a pick-up style vehicle to be completely destroyed by fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and 1 thermal imaging camera. The incident was confirmed to be accidental and was handed over to the vehicle owner.
