3 fire appliances from Wells and Shepton Mallet, together with the Rescue Tender from Glastonbury, were mobilised following a request from Ambulance for our assistance to a one vehicle RTC, where a car had gone into a wall, trapping a male casualty.

The initial crew were on scene within minutes and set to work stabilising the vehicle and formulating a plan for extrication of the casualty with Ambulance crews. Once established, crews worked alongside paramedics, first removing the drivers side door to access the casualty, using hydraulic cutting gear and then by 20:23hrs confirmed that they were able to walk the gentleman out of the vehicle.

He was left in the care of Ambulance paramedics whilst crews made the vehicle and scene safe. Duty of care for the incident was then left with the Police. These are the full and final details.
