Incident - Tractor Fire

2 fire appliances from Castle Cary and Yeovil were mobilised following a call from a farmer whos tractor had caught fire in a field, adjacent to the A371.

On arrival crews confirmed the tractor was well alight and set to work extinguishing the fire with 2 BA and compressed air foam via a main jet and a hose reel jet. Police were also requested to attend for traffic duties due to the close proximity of the tractor to the road.

Crews brought the fire under control at 1252hrs, confirming the tractor had been completely destroyed and had started accidentally. Once extinguished and the area made safe, duty of care was left with the farmer and the Police.
