Incident - Carbon monoxide alarm

Date: 26/03/2014
Time: 20:38
Location: George Nympton Road, South Molton
Area: Central
County: Devon

Two appliances from South Molton and Barnstaple stations were mobilised following a call to a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at the above address.

On arrival crews set to work using a gas detector and wearing two breathing apparatus sets. The gas detector showed there was carbon monoxide within the property, so crews ventilated with the help of a positive pressure ventilation fan. Advice was given to the occupant of the property to turn off the appliances in the house and have them tested as soon as possible.
