A call was received from a member of the public stating a car was on its roof in a field well alight. Two fire appliances from Castle Cary and Wincanton were mobilised to the incident along with the Rescue Tender from Yeovil as a precaution for persons trapped. After an update on the location, a further appliance from Shepton Mallet was mobilised to attend the incident.

On arrival crews confirmed one vehicle had left the highway and was well alight. This car was believed to have been involved in an road traffic collision previously and there were now no persons trapped. Crews got to work using two breathing apparatus sets and one compressed air foam jet.

A further informative stated that there were no persons trapped and the third appliance, rescue tender and ambulance were no longer required.

Crews extinguished the fire and handed the incident over to the police.
