Details on how to make a request under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 or Data Protection Act (DP) 1998...
If you wish to use your 'right to know', under the FOI Act 2000 a valid request must:
1. be in writing (fax or e-mail are acceptable).
2. contain a contact name and address. We may need to contact you to clarify the request. A telephone number would be useful and we will need somewhere to send the information.
3. contain a description of the information required.
If we hold the information requested and are able to release it, this will be done within 20 working days of receipt of your request, as required by the legislation.
Your request should be addressed to:
The Freedom of Information Officer,
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service,
Clyst St George,
Exeter. EX3 0NW
or emailed to email@example.com.
If you have any questions regarding FOI contact our Freedom of Information Officer by firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will be able to ask for assistance if you have any difficulty in formulating or making an application by contacting the Freedom of Information Officer. Any enquiries regarding the scheme should be sent to the above address/email.
Fire Reports and Interviews
Requests for Fire Reports and interviews will continue to be dealt with 'as normal business' and charges apply to these. Please see our Standard Charges for the current rates. You can email email@example.com to make such requests.
If you wish to make a DP request for personal data, this should be done via our Subject Access Request (SAR) Form.
If we hold the information requested and are able to release it, this will be done within 40 calendar days of receipt of your completed SAR.
Again, you may use the address above and the email firstname.lastname@example.org when making your request or asking for assistance.
Please see our Privacy Statement webpage, for more information.
